The inaugural annual Carlsberg Halloween Howls Comedy Festival took place on the October bank holiday weekend in a jam-packed Portlaoise town. The event was an unprecendented success for a festival in its first year.

The town was buzzing from Friday to Monday with party-goers from all parts of the country, as well as tourists from Europe and America. Staff and crew were well appointed to handle the crowd and were easily spotted with the help of their festival branded T-Shirts.

The programme was packed full of laughs and the website went down a treat! The intimate venues created an electric atmosphere in each show, while the backdrops created a professional look and feel to the rooms.

All-in-all it was the best weekend I've spent in a very long time and will definitely be scheduled into my 2009 calendar, can't wait!
